NE:Tech Code of Conduct
NE:Tech events are intended for education, networking, and community. To ensure it is a welcoming, friendly environment all attendees, speakers and volunteers at any NE:Tech event are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. We will enforce this code throughout our events.
THE QUICK VERSION
NE:Tech is dedicated to providing an inclusive event experience for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age or religious beliefs. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants or NE:Tech volunteers in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate at our events, including the content of the talks. Participants violating these rules may be asked to leave at the discretion of our event organising team.
THE LESS QUICK VERSION
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, or religious beliefs. We do not tolerate sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other NE:Tech events, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the event organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event and any future NE:Tech events. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact one of the NE:Tech organising teams immediately.
The NE:Tech organising team will be happy to help participants contact security or police, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of our events. We value your attendance.
